Distribution of food baskets: Tachlit distributes food baskets containing fruits, vegetables, rice, flour, and other basic groceries to 870 families each week and 1,800 families twice a year before Rosh Hashanah and Passover. Two hundred volunteers of all ages, including IDF soldiers, come to the Tachlit headquarters in Jerusalem every Wednesday and Thursday to organize and pack the baskets. They are distributed all over Jerusalem, in Beit Shemesh, Modiin, Tel Aviv, Netanya, as far south as Dimona and Netivot and as far north as Yavne’el.
