Yeladim – Fair Chance for Children was founded in 1986 with the intention of assisting children in residential homes, primarily in areas which are not budgeted by the Ministries of Welfare, Education, and Health. Yeladim’s main goal is to grant opportunities to children in residential homes similar to those enjoyed by children living with their families and to enable them to grow up to be independent and productive adults. To do so, Yeladim lobbies for the rights of these children and operates educational, rehabilitative, and treatment programs. These services include remedial teaching, acting as a legal guardian for those children whose parents are unable to fulfill this role, supporting and guiding children who have left group/foster care, running educational and resource centers that provide games and social activities, operating parent-child summer camps, and more.
