HaMakom is a new kind of cultural institution in Tel-Aviv–Yafo, dedicated to exploring Jewish innovation – from the Bible to the start-up nation and beyond. It reflects a profound engagement with ideas, culture, and Jewish-Israeli creativity, inviting visitors into a living conversation that has shaped world culture. HaMakom will be a living laboratory for Jewish exploration, a space that invites all visitors, Jewish and non-Jewish, to engage with contemporary Jewish and Israeli dilemmas and questions in historical context. HaMakom’s site, Five Acres assigned by the Municipality of Tel Aviv Yafo, on a unique location overlooking the Mediterranean, along the bank of the Yarkon River and steps from the Port of Tel Aviv. The exhibition will include six pavilions collectively forming an integrated experience. Each pavilion will contain independent units designed along three axes: geographical, thematic, and chronological. Each unit will weave together dilemmas, characters, written extracts, music, art installations, and multimedia to present a rich tapestry of creativity & innovation. Visitors are invited to journey through interconnected ideas, stories, and questions highlighting Jewish commitment to dialogue, creativity, and cultural continuity. The design enables exploration of thematic threads across pavilions using digital cross-referencing and multi-sensory interactive installations.
