Israel’s trans community is in a state of emergency. The Israeli government is actively working to defund civil society, silence human rights organizations, and push the trans community further into invisibility. Funding is rapidly disappearing, and vital services are at risk of being shut down. Transgenders for Social Justice (TSJ) is Israel’s longest-standing organization dedicated to transgender rights. Born from the grassroots in 2010, TSJ has worked to protect and uplift the country’s trans community through healthcare advocacy, professional training, and community support. Amid rising political repression, widespread disinformation, and targeted defunding of civil society, TSJ stands as one of the few remaining grassroots organizations protecting trans lives and rights. Support from allies and partners is what will determine whether trans communities in Israel can continue to survive, organize, and lead. Together, we can turn resilience into power and possibility into lasting change. Together, we can ensure that trans people in Israel not only survive, but thrive.
