Opening in 1999, the Tower of David Museum is a unique historical site and center that invites people of all backgrounds to experience the history and culture of Jerusalem via a cutting edge museum, original cultural events, and cultural and educational programming. The permanent exhibition utilizes illustrative methods rather than a collection of artifacts to relate the city’s history. In addition, the Museum is committed to reaching out by making access available to all and by creating programs that answer the needs of underserved communities. There are special programs for schoolchildren with special needs, children and youth at risk, young soldiers in the IDF, new immigrants, and others. There are also special group-specific programs that respect cultural differences for ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups and Arab schoolchildren and adults.
