Women of the Neighborhood, piloted by Tishreen, aims to create a safe and supportive environment where women can gather weekly to build community, foster connections, and engage in meaningful discussions. The core activities will begin with weekly meetings in Tayibe, starting in January 2025, to establish trust and create a core group of participants. These meetings will serve as a space for socializing and discussing topics important to the women, shaped by a needs assessment process. Over time, the group will explore personal growth opportunities through workshops, lectures, and discussions on a range of relevant topics, such as health and social issues. As the project progresses into its second phase in June 2025, more structured workshops will be introduced, responding directly to the participants’ needs. The community to expand engagement and explore outreach to other parts of the Triangle region. The aim is to foster intergenerational dialogue by facilitating interactions between older women and youth, promoting understanding and cohesion across generations. The project seeks to enhance participants’ well-being by creating a space where they can feel supported and empowered. It is expected that the women will experience increased social connections and emotional health benefits, while also gaining confidence in addressing challenges in their lives and communities.
