Tikvat Acheinu – Educational and Emotional Empowerment was founded in 1996 and aims to reduce the adverse situations facing at-risk youth and children throughout Israel. It provides the necessary professional assistance and tools for these youngsters and their families (particularly low income, underserved, single-parent, immigrant, and newly religious families) to empower them to create a future. Its services include in-school educational programming for at-risk youth, recreational/social afterschool clubs for at-risk youth, providing homework assistance and strengthening Jewish identity among French immigrants, and a program that provides vulnerable and at-risk students with an equal opportunity as regular students.
