Established in 1978, the Tel Aviv Sexual Assault Crisis Center provides immediate crisis intervention services to victims of sexual assault, raises public awareness, and initiates essential social change through extensive educational outreach programs. The Center operates a 24/7 hotline for women who were sexually assaulted that also offers assistance to their families and significant others. There are also hotlines for men, religious men and youth, and Russians. In addition, the Center provides a number of support groups, one-on-one meetings, accompaniment to hospitals police stations, and through the judicial process, a Victim Witness Assistance Program, and referrals to professionals Its public outreach projects include lectures and workshops for students, at-risk youth, and prisoners, training courses for professional therapists, seminars and lectures, lobbying, outreach to the religious and ultra-orthodox communities and new immigrants, professional consultation, and much more.
