The Appleseeds Academy, formerly Tapuah – The Israel Society for the Advancement of the Information Age, was established in 2002 and aims to bridge social gaps in Israeli society by diminishing the country’s digital divide. It specializes in managing and running technological educational programs designed to develop life skills necessary for the 21st century that are run in over 300 centers in Israel’s geographic and social peripheries. Programs involve employment training, integrating advanced technology with social values and leadership skills for youth, professional development for teachers, technological training, international training, and more. Its Community Knowledge Centers also provide computer training and internet access to local community members and host various enrichment and vocational courses for all ages.
