The ALEH Society was established in 1990 with the goal to aid and advance higher education for the blind in Israel and promote social mobility. It operates the Learning Center for the Blind at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at other branches throughout Israel. The Center provides academic and personal counseling and mobility services, a special preparatory course for the psychometric exam, a career search workshop for college graduates, reading, tutoring and exam-taking services.
