Founded in 2012, Shaharit is a synergistic mix of think tank, leadership incubator, and community organizing hub nurturing a new social partnership among all Israel’s communities, building a future rooted in the common good. Our vision and ideas for a democracy of the common good have spread broadly across Israeli society. We have trained hundreds of young leaders, from the widest spectrum of Israeli society, to advance that vision. Our community organizing program has assisted and led initiatives that brought tangible improvements to the lives of many thousands of Israelis through relationship-building. We are currently running a highly successful emergency response program that has made $1,000,000 in microgrants and provided critical support to 150+ grassroots projects that are restoring social resilience. Our grantees have activated more than 40,000 volunteers and touched the lives of 1,350,000 Israelis.
