Save a Child’s Heart in Memory of Dr. Ami Cohen (“SACH”) is a registered Israeli humanitarian organization founded in 1995 in Holon, Israel. SACH operates internationally, to save the lives of children suffering from heart disease, in countries where access to pediatric care is limited or nonexistent. Our core value is Tikkun Olam – doing good to repair the world and believing that every child deserves the best medical care, regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality, or financial status. The Save a Child’s Heart mission is achieved through its five core activities: 1) Medical Treatment – Providing lifesaving quality, state-of-the-art medical treatment for children suffering from congenital and acquired heart disease. 2) Medical Training – Advancing professional medical knowledge and skill in pediatric cardiac care by training medical teams from partner countries to support local capacity building. 3) Medical Missions Abroad – Conducting onsite treatment and training of local medical teams to foster independent centers of excellence in pediatric cardiac care. 4) Strengthening our Center for Excellence in Israel – Advancing SACH’s medical capabilities in pediatric cardiac care through treatment, training, research, and innovation at the new Sylvan Adams Children’s Hospital and Ida Cabakoff International Pediatric Cardiac Center for Save a Child’s Heart, initiated and established by Save a Child’s Heart and the Ministry of Health, made possible by our generous supporters. 5) Young Leadership Program – Involving the future generation of Jewish and non-Jewish youth and young adults in Tikkun Olam by supporting the humanitarian life-saving mission of SACH through volunteering, educational and fundraising initiatives, showcasing Israel’s humanity to the world.
