Sababta is Israel’s first intergenerational youth movement, bringing together teenagers and older adults for meaningful, joyful, and ongoing community activity. Our work is built on a simple belief: older adults are not passive recipients of support, and young people are not only volunteers. They are equal partners in a shared community. At Sababta, young people and older adults meet regularly to play, create, learn, travel, celebrate, talk, and take part in activities that break routine and build genuine relationships. Rather than “coming to make older people happy, participants come to enjoy life together, form friendships, reduce loneliness, and create a stronger sense of belonging across generations.
