We have set up a system of mentors who are native-born Israelis, trained to teach in all kinds of educational systems, from the secular to the most Haredi schools. Every young person, without exception, is assigned a mentor who sets up a twice-weekly learning session on a private basis. This method brings the youth in contact with the style of learning that is standard characteristic of the type of learning in the educational system that each youth learns in. With an older and successful role modal at the helm, the youth also learn valuable social skills. We began opening learning centers with professional staff. The centers operate as a mediator between the schools and the families, bridging the gap between the parents and the schools, bringing blessed relief to a volatile situation. At the learning center, the children receive a comprehensive and psycho-didactic diagnosis, and is then referred for help such as: remedial teaching, occupational therapy, and emotional and social therapy, in accordance with their needs. Besides dealing with the social and academic difficulties, the project will also deal with problems within the home itself. Range of Activities of the Organization There are 18 branches spread over the country: In Jerusalem, Maale Adumim, Tel Zion, Elad, Beitar, Modiin Ilit, Beit Shemesh, Ashdod, Rehovot, Haifa, Ofakim, Rechasim, Zefat, Carmiel, Migdal Emek. There are 850 mentors, of which over 180 work in the Jerusalem branches, for example. There are 3 branches in the country which have learning centers: Jerusalem, Kiryat Sefer, and Beitar.
