The Patrizio Paoletti Association was founded in 2005 as an independent branch of the global Patrizio Paoletti Foundation, which develops educational programs based on research in the field of neuroscience and psycho-pedagogy focused on the Pedagogy for the Third Millennium (PTM). In Israel, the Association focuses its activities on the flagship program Youth of Light Project, a vocational-educational project for at-risk youth. The youth are involved in the development, production, and marketing of candles as part of a boutique candle-production workshop, thereby acquiring life and employment skills while enjoying enrichment activities. Through these activities, the project seeks to integrate the youth into educational frameworks and normative society. It has been operating successfully at the government-run multidisciplinary center for at-risk youth (Meitar) in Ashkelon, Meitar in Arraba, and at Meitar in Holon.. In 2021, 2 more centers were opened: Herbal Farm in Moshav Rishpon, Soap Production Workshop In the town of Zarzir. In 2022, a collaboration began between the Youth of Light Association and Mitzpe Yam, a closed home for youth, as part of a rehabilitation process under a court order. This cooperation is the first of its kind in Israel. In addition, as part of entering a new collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Youth of Light has initiated a collaboration with Rozmetzkin high school in Tel-Aviv and with ORT Technological high school in Kiryat Gat. This collaborations will enable our association to work with youth before they drop out of high school. Thereby increasing the chances they will graduate. This year (2023) we have started for the first time working with Ultra-Orthodox youth, and opened the project in a Meitar in a collaboration with the municipality of Modi’in Ilit. A new and exciting collaboration also started as part of “Planting Together” initiative by JNF. The program, funded mostly by JNF, is targeted to reach youth at risk who dropped out of school and are not taking part in any program. Youth of Light together with JNF will establish two new groups in Ashkelon and Migdal Ha’Emek.
