Igrun Uvneh was founded in 2005 in order to rehabilitate families in distress that are not receiving aid from any other organizations. The organization offers help in various areas: financial assistance, food vouchers and baskets, dental treatment, operating a helpline, support for women in distress, dealing with at-risk children and teenagers, and arranging psychiatric and psychological assistance from professionals. The organization also provides funding for medical consultations for the needy in cases of medical maltreatment and long-term, interest-free loans. The organization has a home for youth at risk, and helps integrate youth employment frameworks / study. Uvneh works closely with the Welfare Department in the Beit Shemesh city, The organization helps the general public in the city, with no discrimination. What determines whether a person will receive assistance is the only one criterion – his/her level of distress. Recently Uvneh expanded operations and opened a unit for children with developmental difficulties.
