The Moran Choir was established in 1986 under the expert musical direction of conductor Naomi Faran. During its more than 3 decades of activity, the Moran Choir has made enormous musical and educational achievements, including winning competitions, participating in international festivals, performing original compositions and more. One of the choir’s main goals is to assimilate the unique culture of choral music in the Israeli society as a whole and especially in the younger generations. Over the years, the Moran Choir has expanded into six exceptional choirs and ensembles comprised of singers of various ages. Activities with and for the benefit of the community make up a significant part of the Moran Choirs’ identity. The development of musical excellence as a means of helping underprivileged populations integrate into the mainstream is our predominant social goal. The choirs combine outstanding singing into a variety of community activities: with youth at risk, special needs children, pediatric cancer patients at Schneider Children’s Hospital and the elderly. We believe that singing creates a close, independent connection between the singers. It breaks down barriers and allows friendships to flourish!
