Since its inception, The MIchael Levin Base (The MLB) understood the importance of holding Friday night and Holidays meals. It creates a sense of community for these young men and women who come to Israel to serve their homeland. These meals have grown from only twice a month on Friday night to every Friday night of the month as well as every Shabbat for lunch. Our Friday night meals and Shabbat lunches have become the highlight of the week for all who attend, on average 40-50 Friday night and 30-40 Shabbat lunch. It gives them a chance to meet new friends and catch up with old friends. Moreover, given their limited time and budgets, they do not have to worry about preparing food for Shabbat, which is also a big financial relief for most.
