Marpeh LeNefesh, an Israeli non-profit mental health organization that promotes the independence, community functioning and quality of life of adults with severe and persistent mental illness through residential rehabilitation services encompassing hostels, sheltered housing, or supported living in the community. Our services are aligned with community-based recovery-oriented practices and improve multiple aspects of personal, social and occupational functioning, supporting participants in gradually transitioning from hostel to supported living schemes and from sheltered to supported employment. Our nationwide services are provided within the Ministry of Health rehabilitation basket and include also culturally-sensitive frameworks for the ultra-orthodox society and for individuals with comorbidity. They benefit more than 1200 mental health consumers aged 18 and above. The association owns/rents about 100 buildings and apartments for rehabilitation frameworks all over Israel, and employs about 400 professional staff members, including: psychiatrists, managers, social workers, rehabilitation counselors, medical nurses and an operations team. The association places great emphasis on annual training and professional development for entire staff, in order to provide the highest quality service to those receiving rehabilitation services.
