Talmud Israeli

Talmud Israeli is an educational, community and social project that strives to present tools to make a meaningful connection to Jewish and Israeli values while strengthening Jewish identity and building connections to Israeli culture and Jewish heritage. Generations of people have found that the way to connect to their heritage, their Jewish identity, their families and their communities is through the Talmud, the series of books that connect the generations and connect the Written Law and the Oral Law. The Talmud Israeli project includes seven books that cover the entire Talmud, arranged in the Daf Yomi order, with explanations, pictures, stories and a historical timeline of much of Jewish history. The books are fitting for parent-child learning, classroom learning and community learning programs. Thousands of students and many communities use the weekly printed publication, while thousands more receive the digital e-blast. The weekly publication connects the Talmud with Zionist identity though columns about people, events and places from Israeli history. The Talmud Israeli project takes place in hundreds of schools and communities in Israel and around the world as Daf Yomi lessons, Beit Midrash learning, parent-child learning and as supplemental Jewish learning for the community. The project is translated to different languages and is also active in communities in Europe and North America. The Talmud Israeli five-minute long movie clips have been produced with Mechon Meir. The actors are Assi and Tuvia, well known stars. They discuss different sugiot from the Talmud that are the foundation of the Jewish people. Within the framework of the Talmud Israel project, we organize Siyyum parties, educational trips, quiz-bowls and more. Talmud Israeli’s Facebook has a daily post that deals with the daf of the day in a most unique manner. There is no better source of Jewish wisdom and thought, halacha and aggada than the Talmud. Learning Talmud connects us with our traditions, with our past, with a friend and in chevruta, and most importantly, invites a special meeting with our children and with ourselves.
