Maala (Business for Social Responsibility) is Israel’s leading non-profit member organization advancing corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and ESG standards among Israeli companies. Since 1998, Maala has served as a professional community for leading Israeli companies that have committed to advanced environmental, social, and ethical practices, providing the frameworks, tools, and benchmarks to embed responsibility into their core strategy and operations. Maala’s flagship is the Maala ESG Rating Index, Israel’s foremost annual benchmark for corporate responsibility and sustainability, evaluating companies across governance, environment, ethics, employee relations, community involvement, and transparency, with a dedicated track for growth-stage companies. Throughout the year, Maala convenes professional learning forums for member companies — peer-exchange sessions and working groups where practitioners share practices and develop tools for emerging challenges. These efforts culminate in the Maala Annual Conference, the central gathering of Israel’s corporate responsibility community, drawing some 450 participants from business, government, and civil society. A central focus of Maala’s recent work is its program on social cohesion, developed in partnership with the Office of the President of Israel under the “Time to Talk” initiative. Working with business leaders, Maala promotes the workplace as a “safe space” for constructive dialogue amid deepening social division, encouraging companies to strengthen inclusion and belonging across different groups of employees.
