Kolot works to foster leadership that drives positive change in Israeli society by engaging diverse leaders in deep Jewish learning and empowering them to express the core values of the evolving Jewish canon – social responsibility, sensitivity to others, justice and charity, and respectful discourse – in their public and professional lives. Kolot’s work cultivates values-based leadership to shape a more resilient, cohesive and democratic Israeli society. With a growing network of over 2,500 graduates, our programs target reputable and influential leaders across all sectors – business, military, healthcare, education, culture, government, public service, and nonprofits – in order to enhance impact. Each cohort weaves together the diverse tapestry of Israeli society, including religious and secular, politically diverse, and Arab, Bedouin, and Druze participants, in order to strengthen cohesive pluralism. At the heart of Kolot is our vibrant beit midrash (house of learning) where our diverse cohorts engage in the broad Jewish tradition of textual study. Our unique methodology mines the deep wellsprings of ancient Jewish wisdom to inspire meaning and purpose in leadership roles; build bridges across ideological and social divides; learn practical, actionable tools; and sharpen the moral compass of our participants. Through this work, Kolot ensures a thriving Jewish and democratic state that values the diverse voices of its citizens, unified and inspired by shared values that bind them, while leveraging areas of disagreement as a source of strength in shaping Israel’s future. We envision an Israeli society whose leaders and citizens are inspired by Jewish wisdom to build a just, compassionate and cohesive country grounded in moral responsibility and shared purpose.
