Kav Lachayim was established in 1989 and ever since has assisted sick children with cancer, muscular dystrophy, cerebral paralysis, and other chronic diseases and their families. Personal volunteers accompany each child in their own environment, hospital or home, in a number of activities including babysitting, attending cultural events, and realizing sick children’s dreams. With the help of different congregations, Sabbaths are organized for more than a thousand children a year. Volunteers help the children get around and hosting families provide a meal and a place to sleep. Other programs, include a summer camp abroad, after-school clubs/meeting places, and country-wide activities for holidays that provide the whole family with games, meals, and artist performances.
