The Jerusalem Institute of Justice (JIJ) is an international legal and research institute, founded in 2004, holding Special Consultative Status at the United Nations. JIJ’s activities span both domestic and international legal advocacy on behalf of survivors of terrorism, human trafficking, and discrimination, while defending the legitimate standing of the State of Israel among the nations. Domestic activities include Free Legal Aid protecting civil rights, religious freedoms, and democratic liberties under Israeli law; Project NOA, which works to eradicate the sex trade and human trafficking through strategic litigation and survivor advocacy; legal aid to victims of terrorism, including comprehensive free legal counsel to terror survivors and wounded IDF soldiers; and dedicated legal representation and advocacy for survivors of the October 7 attacks. International activities include global public diplomacy work upholding human rights and countering systemic bias before international legal and political bodies; the Israel Advocates Forum, which equips a global network of leaders with data-driven resources to counter antisemitism and misinformation; and broader efforts safeguarding Israel’s legitimacy and standing among nations through legal truth and strategic diplomacy. The organization also brought global attention to survivors of the October 7th attacks through the documentary, Saturday October 7th, which is available worldwide to view on Apple TV and Amazon Prime. Beyond its core legal programs, JIJ also provides direct humanitarian relief to Holocaust survivors, dedicated legal representation for Lone Soldiers, and trains future global leaders through its premier internship initiatives. To date, JIJ has provided free legal counsel to more than 30,000 individuals, families, and organizations, secured 25 victories before Israel’s Supreme Court, and impacted more than 10 million lives globally through research and advocacy, including delivering 40+ human rights reports and legal submissions to international tribunals and governing bodies.
