Jerusalem Institute of Contemporary Music

The Jerusalem Institute of Contemporary Music (JICM) was founded in 1988 to bring the music of our time to a wider audience, through performance, research and education. Now in its twenty-seventh year, the Institute has enriched the cultural life of Jerusalem, while creating cutting-edge artists. Founder and Director Dr. Stephen Horenstein envisioned a dual-track approach: 1) to energize the artistic life of Jerusalem and 2) to develop gifted youth, primarily from at risk backgrounds. This approach has been the hallmark of the Institute through over two decades of work.
