The Israeli Volunteering Council leads the volunteering arena in Israel, as a leading umbrella organization. The Council acts to improve the quality of volunteering, increase its scope, expand its infrastructure, advance the development of volunteer management professionals, develope innovative tools and programs and promote policy change. The Council is the navigating body (GPS) for the local and international volunteering arena, combining theory with practice, research, and implementation. The Council’s focal activity in Israel is Development of data-based infrastructures in order to advance volunteering: Training of professionals, Strategy development, Recognition through national awards, Community building, Assessing volunteering impact, Developing replicable project-models, Advocacy for national policy, Developing volunteer programs addressing national needs: loneliness among senior citizens, Defining a municipal model to advance volunteering, Increasing social engagement of young people, Sounding the social voice of young adults with disabilities and more . International Activities: The Council is the Israeli representative in IAVE- International Association for Volunteer Effort, Participating in international conferences, Peer learning, knowledge development and professional exchanges.
