FolKey The Irish Folklore Association was established in Israel in 2017 and is based in Tel Aviv-Yafo. Our main goal is the exposure, distribution and accessibility of Irish musical folklore, which is composed of traditional Irish music, singing and dancing. Additionally, we work to instill interest in Irish musical folklore by offering opportunities to the general public to learn Irish music and dance, with an emphasis on children, youth, and senior citizens. We also hold cultural events such as performances and lectures through which we strengthen and promote ties between the Irish musical folklore community in Israel and its counterparts in the world, and in Ireland in particular. What We Do *Disseminate and make accessible Irish music, poetry and dance in Israel through events for the benefit of the general public *Sponsor, promote and facilitate “sessions” of playing traditional Irish music in Israel *Inform the public about the activities of Irish music and dance ensembles in Israel *Assist lovers of Irish culture wishing to learn Irish music and dance, with an emphasis (but not limited to) on children and youth. We serve as a home for Irish music and dance enthusiasts in Israel: both for those involved in these fields (who have until now operated individually), and for fans of Irish culture who wish to enjoy Irish music and dance performances, and of course for those who wish to join the ranks of musicians and dancers and need appropriate guidance and training. Since we are interested in assisting anyone who wishes to learn Irish music, we have compiled information about music teachers in Israel.
