Founded in 1969, the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (IAJLJ) strives to advance human rights everywhere, including the prevention of war crimes, the punishment of war criminals, etc. The Association is especially committed to issues that are on the agenda of the Jewish people, and works to combat racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, Holocaust denial and negation of the State of Israel. It runs a variety of activities for its members (lawyers, judges, judicial officers and academic jurists in more than 50 countries), such as conferences, seminars, and study days, during which members meet and formulate policies and possible modes of action. The association is an accredited NGO at the United Nations in NY and Geneva and at the Council of Europe and takes active part in sessions In addition, IAJLJ participates in UN matters support or protest actions, and sometimes in legal proceedings and publishes the magazine Justice.
