Impact-SE Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance

The Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-SE) is an interdisciplinary research organization that monitors and analyses schoolbooks and curricula throughout the Middle East with an eye to determining their compliance with international standards on peace and tolerance, as derived directly from UNESCO declarations and resolutions. Since 1998, IMPACT-SE has published a dozen reports, which have been used by the media and by members of the US Congress, the EU Parliament and the Israeli Knesset, to demand changes in the curricula and textbooks of Middle East countries, and to condition funds’ allocation accordingly.
