The Amutah continues its ongoing chesed activities. These activities include food vouchers to local supermarkets for about 60 to 70 disadvantaged families, interest-free loans for emergency situations, and gemachs of various types. Hevel Nevi’im works closely with the municipal Social Welfare Department to verify individual need and the municipal Social Welfare Department at times refers individuals to the Amutah. Increased assistance is made available around the High Holidays and Passover. The amutah has recently set up emergency funds for families of IDF reserve soldiers who have been called up to serve and for evacuees from the North and the South living in Kiryat Tivon. From the inception of the Amutah in 1999, all members of the Amutah are volunteers and 100% of all contributions go directly to fund the activities of the Amutah. Hevel Nevi’im does not receive any institutional support and relies completely on donations from individuals.
