In the midst of the long, painful conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, the Sulha Peace Project seeks to protect and enhance the humanity of people on both sides of the political divide. We facilitate face-to-face, heart-to-heart Palestinian-Israeli meetings, embracing differences in religion, race, gender, background, and ideology. We foster respect and curiosity for each other in a political reality of enforced separation, promoting solidarity and dignity over alienation and fear, and providing a humane, safe space amid suspicion and anxiety. At Sulha we believe that any political solution to the conflict in our region will require a cultivation of the hearts of the people living on this land. This necessitates belief and hope: belief in the possibility of a common future, characterized by a growing generosity and empathy, and hope born from the building of deep, human relationships among us in an open and supportive space. Out tools include listening circles, music, prayer, movement and other tools that enhance connection and trust. We oppose all expressions of violence and advocate for the right of all people to freedom and dignity, without fear of oppression. We strongly condemn the injustices of the ongoing occupation. With faith in our shared humanity and trust in its healing power, we are committed to building a humane infrastructure for a future of peace and healing between our peoples.
