The Dialogue Across Differences movement will strengthen and reward public representatives in the political and organizational fields and online influencers who use their positions to encourage productive, civil dialogue in its many forms, while calling out those who put up barriers, create friction, and seek only to protect their own positions in a manner that weakens Israeli public unity. The movement will operate in accordance with a carefully structured and publicized code of ethics and guidelines; naturally, these parameters will be completely non-sectarian and non-political, offering no preference to any political, religious, or cultural sector. And this point bears repeating: The movement will not prevent debate, discussion, or even disagreement. It will focus exclusively on promoting productive, respectful, inclusive discourse. The code will be created by a professional committee that will also supervise the movement’s activities on a daily basis. Perhaps the most unique aspect of Dialogue Across Differences is the formation of a panel of representatives of few bereaved families from the war (representing all sectors across the Israeli public secular, religious etc). The input of these individuals aims to ensure that their fallen soldiers did not die in vain. The panel will be involved in both the creation of the core policies and the ongoing supervision of the debate. The goal of this diversification is to avoid any accusation that our approach aligns with any specific demographic other than, simply, Israeli.
