Givat Sharet Chesed Committee

The Givat Sharett Chesed Committee helps the individuals and families of Beit Shemesh in times of need. It provides financial assistance and cooks for families with newborns or in cases of illnesses or emergencies. The Chesed Committee also acts as an liaison between various relief organizations and the needy, distributing funds where they are desperately needed. These include Tipat Chalav (offering new mothers used cribs, strollers, and baby clothing), Keren Klita (helping Russian immigrants settle in), the local soup kitchen, and the city welfare department. The Committee also lends out a small refrigerator and stovetop to new immigrants until theirs arrives, chairs, sefarim, and other essentials for mourners, and various items needed for a wedding.
