Gilat Israel brings healing, hope, and resilience to Israel’s most vulnerable pediatric patients children facing long-term, complex, and life-threatening illnesses who often spend months or even years in hospitals. Inspired by the memory of Gilat zl, our programs are designed specifically for the sickest children, providing emotional and psychological support alongside their medical treatment. Our flagship initiative delivers weekly therapeutic theater experiences, co-created with pediatric psychologists and tailored to each child’s abilities. Through theater, music, and humor, our professional actors help children process trauma, regain confidence, and improve their rehabilitation outcomes. Returning week after week, they provide continuity, emotional grounding, and moments of joy for children and their families, helping to make the hospital environment less isolating and more supportive of healing. Since October 7th, Gilat Israel has responded to the urgent needs of children displaced or traumatized by the war. In the past year, we have reached over 6,000 children in leading pediatric institutions including ALYN Hospital, Shalva National Center, Hadassah Ein Karem, and Shaare Zedek Medical Center. By 2026, we plan to expand to four additional hospitals, including Sheba, Schneider, and Hadassah Har HaTzofim. All programs are provided free of charge, ensuring that the sickest children can access essential emotional and rehabilitative support during prolonged hospital stays.
