Established in 1977, Gan Hayeled is an enrichment center for children, youth and young adults with special needs and their families, with low socio-economic backgrounds. Gan Hayeled provides enrichment activities and therapy, afterschool recreational programs, a social club in the evenings for teenagers and adolescents, summer camps, and sleepovers to improve their social skills and independence and to help relieve the parents. The therapy for children includes the use of multi-sensory stimulation therapy through the use of a specially designed room known as the Snoezelen Room.
