Freedom Farm Sanctuary is a social educational center and farm animal sanctuary, bringing together people and animals rescued from the food industry. The first of its kind in Israel, our mission is to rescue animals from the food industry and create a space for humans and animals to be together, improving the lives of human beings and animals alike. Our educational programs target schools, youth groups, families and private companies, with a special emphasis on volunteering and visitation programs that support people with special emotional, social and learning needs. We offer Guided Tours at the farm for various audiences- families, adults and children of all ages, enabling the visitors to witness farm animals wander freely around the property and expose them to animals’ natural behaviors, complex emotional states and sophisticated social structure. In addition, we run a Volunteer Program on a regular basis for populations with disabilities, as well as a Therapeutic Center offering emotional therapy “in the presence of animals”. Our intent is that people will leave feeling empowered to make a positive impact on human health, have compassion for animals, and help eradicate some of the planet?s biggest environmental challenges. We believe that fostering love and compassion for animals also encourages greater tolerance towards people from different groups (cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic) and those with special needs, taking a significant step towards making Israeli society more tolerant, less violent and more respectful.
