Eitan-Everybody Can was founded in 2015 with the mission to use physical exercise to empower people with special needs, to expand the opportunities available to them, and to reduce the stigma associated with this population in Israeli society. Physical exercise and sports are known to be vital to the development of children and to the maintenance of healthy lifestyles among adults. Beyond physical benefits, sports provide a safe space in which to learn crucial life skills such as self-control, perseverance, communication, teamwork, as well as healthy ways to channel energy and release stress. Despite these innumerable benefits, the opportunities for people with physical and intellectual disabilities to engage with sports in Israel are severely limited – a limitation that Eitan seeks to rectify. Every year, more than 450 individuals with special needs, most of whom are on the autism spectrum, ages 5+ in 50 cities gain access to professional fitness training through our programs.
