Established in 2000, Economic Empowerment for Women (EEW) aims to bring about economic change for women in Israel through a multi-level approach. EEW’s target population includes low income women from all sectors throughout the entire country and it offers specific programs for new immigrants and Arab and ultra-orthodox women. EEW assists women in opening their own small businesses using the Micro-Enterprise strategy, a strategy that enables women to become self-sufficient through self-employment. It also offers a year-long empowerment and entrepreneurial training course, assist women to prepare loan applications for submission to loan funds, provide long-term business support, and more. In addition, EEW operates training programs for professionals, NGOs, volunteers, and field workers that include information about low-income women and the issues that affect them.
