Co-Walking (The Walks) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting migrant youth from the former USSR as they navigate their new lives in Israel. Our goal is to help them adapt and integrate into society in their new country, providing them with points of support. The initiative offers a safe and supportive space for teenagers (ages 12-21) to cope with trauma, build meaningful relationships, and expand and strengthen their sense of identity and belonging. Many of our participants have fled the war in Ukraine or Russia, only to face further challenges upon arriving in Israel. Operating in three cities across Israel, The Walks offers weekly gatherings, seasonal art and STEM labs based on principles of informal education, meetings with inspiring people, and exposure to various professional tracks, as well as psychological support. The Walks develops programs with inclusivity in mind, ensuring participation from all teenagers, regardless of their citizenship status, financial situation, or health needs. We offer free or low-cost day camps and activities to ensure accessibility and engagement for every young person in need of support. Since 2022, we have reached over 800 teenagers, 87% of whom continue to attend regularly.
