CALO (Change Agent Leaders Organization) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the nonprofit sector by investing in its most precious asset – mission-driven CEOs and Executive Directors through unique and powerful leadership peer-learning forums. Nonprofit leaders are the beating heart of the nonprofit sector. They face complex challenges, drive social change, and work tirelessly to ensure that marginalized and underserved communities are not left behind. They are not only a voice, but often the only voice and the only safety net available to those in greatest need. Too often, they carry this burden alone. CALO’s peer learning leadership forums are at the heart of what we do: intimate groups of 8-10 CEOs from leading nonprofits free from conflicts of interest who meet once a month in a safe, trusted space. Participants explore challenges and opportunities together using a proven methodology developed over more than 70 years. The forums are facilitated by professional moderators, often members of EO or YPO – senior leaders from the business world who bring valuable knowledge, experience, and tools tailored to the nonprofit sector. Each structured session leverages the collective wisdom of the group typically over 300 years of combined life and leadership experience – through open sharing of personal challenges, successes, failures, and meaningful insights. This experience strengthens the professional and personal growth of CEOs, exposing them to innovation, diverse management approaches, and new ways to face challenges. The forums build resilience, reduce burnout, and empower leaders to return to their organizations recharged, focused, and ready to lead with renewed purpose. In addition, we offer a range of opportunities for our members: Chapter Events that bring together all organizational members to expand professional networks, promote collaboration, and spark inspiration. We also provide tailored Professional training and Continuing Education to address the critical challenges nonprofit CEOs face today. Finally, our International Network connects CALO members from around the world through closed consultation groups, peer-sharing circles, and other collaborative initiatives.
