The goal of the Amuta (non-profit organization) BERELEV is to help Spanish-speaking Jews living in Israel, regardless of their religious affiliation or immigration status. In the health care arena: Provide support and guidance through professionals that speak their language and know how to navigate the healthcare system in Israel. Provide medical and emotional support and guidance for those who have limited family or support in Israel and require medical interventions, be they short or long, as inpatients or outpatients. Provide caregivers to patients through BERELEV employees or volunteers. Provide funds for treatment, transportation, and caregivers. *Provide translation services for medical documents and help with filling out required forms. Provide jobs or training opportunities to help those who have been unable to integrate into Israeli society due to language barriers or for other reasons. In the social arena: Provide assistance to people with economic hardships through food stamps, clothing vouchers or other financial aid. *Provide BERELEV employees or volunteers to assist stay-at-home mothers or women with tasks such as babysitting and house cleaning. Provide individual or couples therapy. Provide occasional classes on the basic priniciples of Judaism as outreach for those who wish to learn more about Judaism or become more involved. Provide assistance to brides with wedding dresses or other related items. * BERELEV does not pay money directly to its beneficiaries, only services. If a third-party service is required, direct payment will be made to the service provider. BERELEV reserves the right to provide service to anyone it deems necessary. The governing board of BERELEV will make all decisions related to its operations. We are fortunate to have Rabbi Burshtein’s support. He will sit as a member of the board.
