Benetivey Udi Association was established in 1994 by Mordechai and Georgette Algrably, in memory of their son Lt. Udi Algrably, who was killed in action in Lebanon. Udi’s parents, founders and owners of Rekah Pharmaceutical chose to honor their son by advancing his values and his efforts to narrow social gaps, nurture social and technological excellence in the periphery, develop solidarity and fortify the nation’s resilience. Benetivei Udi operates three educational and social programs that strengthen Israeli society: Nitzanim is an award-winning, multiyear technological training program foryouth and young adults from Israel’s socioeconomic periphery. Nitzanim was established in 2016 and operates in collaboration with the National Digital Agency of the Government ICT Authority (Finance Ministry), the Education Ministry, the Defense Ministry, IDF and Israeli high-tech companies. Out of the Depths an innovative program offering emotional support forbereaved families who lost a loved one in civilian circumstances. The program operates at the Meir Hospital and in the coming years will expand to Clalit Health Services hospital throughout the country. Garinei Udi bridge-building between secular, masorati and religious teenagers through joint community action for senior citizens and underprivileged children.
