Beit Kobi was founded in memory of Sergeant Kobi Ichlebom who fell in combat on March 10, 2002 in the Netzarim region (near Gaza). Beit Kobi is the only non-profit organization in Israel that is authorized by the IDF to help lone soldiers and to offer values-based courses to its officers. Its goals include providing a home and family for lone soldiers, training and giving professional aid to families adopting lone soldiers, and to support and influence local authorities and organizations towards the promotion and operation of centers for the care for lone soldiers, throughout Israel. In addition, it aims for its value-based seminars to be a required part of the IDF’s instruction and for them to be based on the values of human and national dignity.
