Be’er-Sova, NGO, established by a group of community conscious volunteers in 1999, has maintained its mission of supplying some 200 hot, healthy, nutritious meals daily to the vulnerable populations in Be’erSheva, in the Community Restaurant, meals delivered to Senior and Youth Centers, and as well to the homebound elderly and handicapped. -Be’erSheva Social Welfare Department referrals are received for some 100 families receiving monthly food packages. -After School Program for youth at risk includes a hot lunch. -Recognizing during the past sixteen years that our food program alone is not an adequate solution to the alleviation of poverty. The board and staff of Be’er-Sova expanded its aims and operations to provide educational enrichment and empowerment programs, including workshops and activities, with the goal being to break the cycle of poverty, as well as advocating for social changes in their lives and in the community. -NEMESH ,Women Advocating for Social Change, has initiated and implemented changes for themselves as well as their families and the community.. Through the program the women have been able to examine themselves, and realize that there is a potential for accomplishment they did not believe possible.
