Bayit Lepletot was founded in 1949 as a warm and understanding home for stranded, broken, orphaned children. Girls Town Jerusalem is one of the three dormitory buildings that houses the children and accommodates approximately 500 girls. They come from 32 different countries all over the world and can stay from the age of 3 until they are married and/or are old enough to go out and start independent lives of their own. There is an educational center that enables the girls to choose and study from a variety of subjects (both academic and vocational).
