The Aged Soviet Teachers Association began by raising funds for Bet-Avot housing for the Russian elderly as most immigrants are unable to afford the rates of existing facilities. Other projects include providing English courses at a low rate for young immigrant specialists (doctors, nurses, engineers, etc.), financing the participation of children in different clubs, helping teenagers in employment, helping teenagers with psychological problems, bus trips for semi-disabled people and new citizens of Jerusalem, and providing help to the families with children suffering from oncologic diseases. A Family Summer Camp in Jerusalem was recently introduced in which participants learn about the Jewish and democratic nature of the State of Israel and strengthen ties between parents and children. also: -The Club for new immigrant families –
