Samson Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital, inaugurated in 2017, is the first public hospital established in Israel in over 45 years and the only one built since Israel became known as the Startup Nation. The hospital’s dedication to innovation is evident in its advanced medical technologies and collaborative patient care models. Situated in southern Israel, Assuta Ashdod serves the country’s most diverse and rapidly growing region. Positioned just 16 miles from the Gaza border, the hospital functions as a regional trauma center. Since October 7th, Assuta Ashdod’s medical teams have saved the lives of hundreds of IDF soldiers, security service members, NOVA survivors, and victims of terror from the Gaza envelope communities. Its unique bomb-shelter design protects patients and staff from missile attacks, ensuring uninterrupted medical treatment during conflicts.
