The Association of Excellence in Psychiatric Rehabilitation (AEPR) was established in 1981 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization. AEPR is organized in two main divisions – the Welfare Services Division, providing services for patients currently hospitalized in the Yehuda Abarbanel Mental Health Center, and the Rehabilitation Community Based Support Services Division for mentally ill persons residing in the community. The latter consists of two community-based rehabilitative residential facilities. The first, the “Neveh” Project for residential services, focuses on housing the mentally ill. The second, ALMOG Rehabilitation Center (Art, Learning & Growth), provides a variety of services and activities. AEPR differs from other organizations in that they deal with the full spectrum of patient care, from hospitalization until advanced levels of rehabilitation.
