Who We Serve Seeach Sod serves 1,600 people with intellectual disabilities, mostly in the impoverished ultra-orthodox population. About Seeach Sod Seeach Sod first meets our clients as children when they enter our rehabilitative daycare centers. Our staff administer a detailed assessment, and create an individual treatment plan for each child. Regardless of the degree of disability, our overall goal is the same for every child a life of integration, self-expression, autonomy and choice. Our programs stay with these children as they grow and develop into adulthood and old age. Because we operate several different Jewish schools for children with intellectual disabilities, we are able to give each child the education that is right for them. Most of these students then graduate to our employment programs or daycare centers, and many take up residence in one of our supported living apartments. Seeach Sod is a leading part of an ongoing revolution. When we were founded 50 years ago, these children were mostly hidden from view and seen as a burden. Today, they can expect to live fulfilling lives full of family, community and meaning.
