Amutah for Education and Health in Israel

The Amuta for Health Education in Israel was founded over 20 years ago as part of an effort to empower workers and the general public by enhancing their knowledge of health and environmental dangers. The Amuta helps spread knowledge and awareness by holding conferences, testifying before Israel’s Parliament and appearing before the media. Members are outspoken in their goals of uncovering and exposing environmental health hazards to the public. The Amuta also actively participates in cases (all pro bono) for people with health risks from various environmental health hazards. Its work has triggered investigations by the State Comptroller and the Knesset, and has led to legislation and interventions and to the establishment of a Governmental Commission of Inquiry.
